Swim

I woke up at 4am again
Feeling troubled and nostalgic

Flying in a Blue Dream

I was telling you about the things I saw
Flying in my blue dream
and about the crushing darkness that enveloped me.
My torch piercing nooks and crannies
Searching for signs of life.

You asked me how it made me feel.
I thought for a moment and said:

Jellyfish

Enamoured by True North
Oblivious
I heard your warnings when it was too late
Blurred lines through a watery lens
The sting licked my lips
An unwelcome, unexpected alien kiss
Speading to my cheeks and the roof of my mouth
I looked back at you and realized I wouldn't trade this for anything

The Water Planet - The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau

Now that I am older and finally have access to the underwater world, I appreciate his existential reflections and his poetic narratives on conservation.

7 Habits Time Management

I am a fan of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Steven Covey. That book changed my life.

During this current period of downtime, I've spent time reading and thinking about the person I want to be when we finally emerge from the other side of the stay at home quarantine. This video is an excellent introduction to Covey's time management approach.

There is something to be said for writing down your goals on paper. Years ago, I developed a printable planner based on Covey's system. You can download it here

Panic

I panicked at the bottom of my slow, crushing descent
Not knowing if I would see the sun again
I thought of you
And calmed, I realised I would
